So, I officially have a problem. It hasn't even been 24 hours since I first got into digital art, but already, I have three finished pieces. Doodles, really, but time-consuming doodles, and I just can't stop, nor do I really want to. And yet, in light of the whole I'm-publishing-a-book-soon thing, I should probably be doing more productive things with my time. Right?
Well! Lucky me, I can turn this fun little pastime into a means of garnering interest in the very book I should be working on! And no, this is not just my way of excusing myself for a day's work put on hold. I can't just admit to stuff like that. And so, without further adieu, say hello to my first digital drawing of Anelisha Knight, heroine of my book trilogy! You'll be seeing lots more of her in the days, weeks, months, and hopefully, years to come.

For a long time, I've been drawing by hand. Everything from fanart, to oc's, to scenes from my books, but that long and tedious era of smudging, coating myself in pencil lead, and fatal drawing mistakes has come to an end. Finally, after all this time, I've started using a drawing tablet and graphic design software. I've got to say, the Undo button is a blessing I don't think I can ever come back from. No more scrapping an entire hour's work due to one, unfixable smudging error. You guessed it, folks. That, right there, is my first real digital drawing. A good ol' fiery dude. I'm still getting used to the software, so you can probably tell it's more of an exploration of all the tools available to me. And if you're sitting there, thinking to yourself, "But why isn't he wearing a shirt?" let me just clear the air and say, I haven't tried my hand at the close detail of clothing just yet. For one thing, I very misguidedly started this drawing at 11pm. It's now closing on 2am and I think I'm satisfied with the headcannon that he's wearing some form of righteous leggings below frame. Or, like, a towel.
All of this to say there may be an explosion of artwork on this page starting now. Fun and convenient, I might even treat you to scenes drawn from my book. But, being that it is now 2am, I think I'll leave that to another day. |
